So here's a few notes I jotted down when I was eavesdropping Tuesday (thank you Kyle for the cupcake I ate which provided my reasoning for standing in the back):
1) Laura will not even be considered for a promotion until someone takes the unpaid specialist positions
2) Laura responded by saying Kyle or I (most likely I) would take it in a pinch
3) Emma would be perfect for the bar specialist role but is in "a rebellious stage" right now and Dave will have to talk to her about it
4) Comp (Company) growth is not high enough (though higher than last year) and its more important to get "new" business in the door (then keep old customers happy?)
5) Then Laura came out and told me she told Susan I would take any position if needed and I work so hard I'll get a nice raise in my review. Which I replied "but I want everyone to get a nice raise here" to which she walked away. (So shut up and take it and we'll make it worth your while?)
Dave and I talked about:
1) the new focus on cleanliness (sheets to fill out, hours to be given)
2) Pre-bumping drinks to save SOS, He told me I don't have and its not what we should be doing when I said I wanted something in writing (he did it anyway Thursday when Laura and I were on bar though)
3) Advantage coming in for training on chemical usage (date though not decided on as of yet)
Has anyone seen Dave clean a damn thing yet? How are his closes? Alice how did your conversation with Mal go about the cleaning supplies? |

Oh, little Emma. Going through her rebellious stage. I keep wondering when she's going to get over that.
What the hell would Laura get promoted to? She doesn't want to leave Sheffield.
Comments on remainder of this report: Vomit.
Also, I love how they're so apparently oblivious to any sort of organization on our part. Just the fact that they think Emma can be "talked to" about taking an unpaid promotion is hilarious. I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted that I'm not considered "perfect for the bar specialist role" or in need of a talking to. Hmpf. |

For the record, I'm not taking an unpaid promotion, and I don't think Candice should either.
IF SoS continues to be a sticking point it needs to eventually come to discussion that Laura and Holly's management of such policies with new employees and during high traffic times is only exacerbating the problem. There are certain things we can address here, but there are other issues that belong to Sheffield, plenty of which are rooted in our lack of competent leadership.
I'm not sure doing as well as we did on the audit is going to help...
